What conditions do chiropractors treat?

76% of our patients are referred from healthcare professionals and existing patients. Most consult us for chronic back pain, neck pain, headaches/migraine, BPPV/vertigo, persistent dizziness after vestibular neuritis or labrynthitis, balance problems and falls.

It’s important to know that we are not a standard chiropractic clinic. We have a special interest in neurology and how the nervous system controls movement, balance, posture and pain. We do use chiropractic techniques like spinal manipulation therapy, mobilisation and massage. However, we also use a range of other techniques aimed at reducing pain and improving function. We will provide you with exercises and tools to help support your recovery and prevent relapses.

How much does treatment cost?

Initial consultations costs £100 and will last 60 minutes. Follow-up appointments cost £60 and last 30 minutes. Our follow-up appointments are 10-15 minutes longer than most other chiropractic clinics. This is to ensure that we have enough to time to discuss your condition, progress and any new developments. It gives me time to reassess your health at each appointment and go through some rehabilitation exercises as well. You will never feel rushed at our clinic.

All NHS, military and police staff receive a 10% discount on all appointments as a small thank you for your service.

How many treatments do I need?

As many times as you like, I’m not interested in selling you a package you don’t want. I do recommend that we find and correct the underlying cause of your symptoms, rather than just providing temporary relief, but it is completely up to you. I understand that life is busy, you might have 12 children to look after, work 70 hours per week or perhaps you can’t afford more than a few treatments. Just tell me what you want, and I will do my best to work to your goals. Equally, I will let you know if your goal is unrealistic e.g. you have an acute disc herniation (slipped disc) and want to have only 2 treatments.

I will inform you during the initial consultation how long treatment is likely to take to see a significant improvement in your symptoms, and how long I would expect it to take to rehabilitate movement, balance and posture to prevent recurrence of your symptoms.

I will always be honest with you and focus on helping your achieve your personal goals.

Does treatment hurt?

It depends on your condition. If I need to work with a compressed nerve, or a strained muscle, then yes, I would expect treatment to be a little tender in the beginning. This normally becomes significantly less tender within 4 treatments. After the treatment you my experience pain for 1-2 days after but this is quite rare.

You are in control of the treatment, so if it’s too painful, you just have to tell me and I will stop or change the treatment technique.

What are Jake’s qualifications?

I studied for 4 years at the Anglo-European Chiropractic College where I received a Masters in Chiropractic (MChiro) with Merit in 2009.

In 2014 I became a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB) by passing the American Chiropractic Neurology Board exams. I am one of only 16 chiropractors in the UK to have done so. In order to maintain this title I complete a minimum of 30 hours of neurology seminars per year but normally average 100 hours, alongside teaching neurology seminars and reading 2-3 research papers per week.

In 2016 I was part of the first class to become certified in Functional Neuro-Orthopedics Rehabilitation (FNOR). One of the most up-to-date and effective systems for treating chronic pain.

I am currently undertaking a Masters in Neuroscience, which will make this clinic one of the first Advanced Clinical Practices for chiropractic in the UK.

I am a full member of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and the General Chiropractic Council (BCA).
